Hats & Caps for Homeless Students
I learned that we have 500 homeless or "in need" students living in poverty in our area...
Finding simple knitting a relaxing time, I've started simple caps for these students. The message is getting out about our need and we have many "seniors" with time to knit, crochet, and loom the caps, but we need yarn to keep all the fingers working.
We need washable yarn, any color, and small new yarn is A OK. We make up many striped hats for the students. If you wish, you can send a tax dedutible donation and/or yarn to use or for our Bulk Shopping.(We save small donations to make a bulk purchase of yarn for the best buying power.)
Our young man in the photo was having a ball with his new cap, a gift for the Holidays. Due to privacy we will not use the photos of the real homeless. The young man in the photo is not homeless. Yet, see his smile.... think of that smile that you can help bring to someone in need.
Caps are delivered to the School's Homeless Liaison for distribution to the students.
GOAL 500 made to deliver for "Christmas in July".
